HelpAge Canada supports older Canadians from coast to coast to coast, particularly those who are underprivileged, marginalized, or struggling with loneliness and isolation. We work alongside a network of community-based senior serving organizations to meet the needs of older persons, empowering them to age in place by providing the social and practical supports they need to do so. Our initiatives fall under four key programs: 

• Seniors Can! Granting Program 
• Digital Literacy Initiatives 
• Men's Mental Wellness Granting Program 
• Age-Friendly Transportation Initiatives 

For over 45 years, HelpAge Canada has worked with the HelpAge Global Network, a collective of 158 member organizations across 86 countries, who are united under one goal: create a world where older people can live secure, healthy, active, and dignified lives.  

As a founding member of HelpAge International, we support older people abroad through several programs and initiatives: 

• Sponsor A Grandparent: This program allows Canadians to directly support the everyday needs of an older person in a developing country through a monthly donation. Sponsors receive updates on the difference being made in the life of the grandparent they sponsor.   
• Humanitarian Relief Initiatives: Through our partnership with Global Affairs Canada, we provide nutrition, security and access to resources to over 50,000 older people and people with disabilities in the Gambela reqion of Ethiopia.  
• Emergency Relief Initiatives: Together with HelpAge International, we respond to emergencies and natural disasters around the world, such as the 2022 Pakistan floods and the war in Ukraine.
